The Mahurkar Residence is an old flat redesigned for a joint family. The main needs were a separate mandir area, seating for at least eight people in the living room, and maximum storage. We also reused the existing materials wherever possible. Since the Mahurkar family is deeply connected to their roots, they wanted a modern home that still carried a traditional look and feel. The kitchen was rearranged for better convenience, and the entrance was made welcoming with a neat shoe rack. The final home feels organized, warm, culturally rooted, and perfect for everyday family living.
